About the Hiring Team Lightspeed Tech Center is a R&D department under Lightspeed Studios which develop PUBG Mobile and other high-quality games. Our Tech Center leads the research, exploration, and discovery of innovative technologies and provides technical services for all games during all phases of life cycle, including engine, audio, QA, AI, next generation game, technical cooperation, etc. What the Role Entails Are you passionate about creating immersive, cutting-edge gaming experiences that captivate players around the world? Do you have a deep love for 3D engine technologies in video games? If so, this is your opportunity to join LightSpeed Studios, Tencent, a leading global player in the gaming industry. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Game Engine Programmer Intern to help us on diverse, ranging in level and discipline of 3D engine technology. Position Overview As a Game Engine Programmer Intern at LightSpeed Studios, Tencent, you will work closely with our world-class game development teams to create cutting edge technologies that enhance performance and streamlined toolset. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects and gain hands-on experience in an industry-leading company, learn the skills needed to begin career in gaming and interactive 3D. Responsibilities Fixing bugs and solving technical issues. Collaborate with game content creators and developers to work features on Tools, Rendering, Animation, Physics, gameplay or data science. Learn and stay up-to-date advanced features in UE5 and their practical applications in real game projects. Develop and optimize physics systems for both real-time and offline simulations. Who We Look For Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Math, or Physics. Strong understanding of 3D Math principles and their applications. Proficiency in C++, other relevant programming languages is plus. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. A passion for video games and a desire to create unforgettable player experiences. Plus: Publications on computer programming, graphics/vision, math, machine learning, and robotics. Past experiences working on published games or applications. Familiarity with game engine (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity), graphics APIs, and GPU programming.
