1. Introduction North East Tennis (NET) Community invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced tennis venue managers and tennis professionals to manage tennis facilities for the NET Community in Mullumbimby. NET Community is the Council’s preferred licensee to occupy the Mullumbimby courts over the next 5 years. NET Community currently occupies courts at Suffolk Park and manages the Northern Rivers NET League, which includes over 200 players and members. Our group is a vibrant, volunteer-based, community-focused organisation committed to delivering high-quality and accessible tennis programs for all ages and skill levels. We are also ambitious to expand tennis in our region and to coordinate it more effectively among different clubs in the Northern Rivers. 2. Scope of Services The successful applicant will be responsible for: Coaching junior and adult players across various skill levels Delivering group and private lessons Running school holiday clinics and tournaments Organising and promoting regular coaching programs and competitions Engaging with local schools and the broader community Supporting club development, including membership growth and facility use Support the development of girls and diversity groups, and attract new segments of society to tennis 3. Selection Criteria Applicants must demonstrate: Relevant coaching qualifications – including Club professional and Tennis Australia qualifications or equivalent A valid Working With Children Check and First Aid certificate Proven experience in coaching and program development Strong communication and interpersonal skills The ability to work collaboratively with the club committee and volunteers Recent committee references would be a bonus Business and marketing acumen for growing participation, including a business case for managing coaching at the courts over the next 5 years. Please provide: A pricing schedule (prices for regional community tennis) A weekly tennis schedule of different activities occurring over 4 courts A weekend competition plan School holiday activities Expected revenue Involvement in supporting leagues, competitions and other segments of inter-club activity, including: Red ball Orange Green ball Match play Commitment and experience to the Northern Rivers and its wider community Ability to primarily focus on the Mullumbimby tennis facility, but with some capacity to support other NETC work, including the NET League. Interest, and coaching qualifications, in Pickleball and/or Padel are a bonus 4. Tenure & Terms The contract is proposed for a period of 3 years with an option to extend to 5 years, with a yearly performance and business partnership review. The Director of Tennis will operate under a management agreement and will be granted court access and usage rights in line with club policy. The contract will take the form of a sub-licence from the club for some of the courts (see below). The final form of the sub-licence is subject to approval by the Council. The coach will use and update clients using club-owned communications channels. The coach will understand and review the club’s agreement with the council and ensure they are adhering to its principles, including conflict-of-interest, revenue, court usage limits, reporting and transparency clauses. The coach will understand that the courts are a public asset operating on Crown Land, meaning that the courts are a shared community space and accessible to all. 5. Submission Requirements Applicants are asked to provide: A cover letter addressing the selection criteria A current CV with references A proposed business/coaching plan (including fee structure and program ideas, as outlined above) Any additional documentation or examples of past coaching success You suggest rental or revenue share value for the Mullumbimby facility (over 12 months) – with the ability to access 4 courts full time and up to 6 courts flexibly, ensuring time for community use. 6.
