Writer/Editor We are seeking writers/editors who want to work flexibly on a project-to-project basis for our corporate clients. Bright Circle provides bid/proposal writing services to construction companies to help them win multi-million dollar infrastructure projects. We are seeking experienced writers/editors to join our team. We will teach you everything you need to know about bids/proposals through our training program. About Bright CircleWe provide bid writing services to support our tier one construction industry clients to bid on road, rail, water, power, and Defence contracts. Our team of writers integrates with our clients’ bid teams for specific projects. We assign a pipeline of projects to our writers according to how much work they want. Most of our writers work a total of eight to ten months of the year, depending how much time they want to take off.We believe in:Enjoyable work and having fun while being professional and delighting our clientsThe importance of a strong team culture with regular get togethers. About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Writer/Editor with a background in technical writing, communications, consulting, journalism, content creation or academic research. You will have a proven track record working on bids in the Australian construction or civil engineering industries, or working on bids in another industry. You will be writing, creating, editing and modifying content as needed; working with SMEs; and often working with our clients’ in-house AI systems. With SME’s you’ll be interviewing, running workshops and storyboarding sessions where needed. You’ll also be running strategy sessions, managing a writing plan, and managing reviews where needed. You’ll be embedding with our tier one clients on a project basis, which means you’ll be working with different clients over the year on different projects - usually road, rail, water and power, but occasionally Defence, hospitals, stadia, operations and maintenance, aviation or maritime. The work is typically hybrid (2-4 days per week in our clients’ office), but many of our bids are mostly or entirely remotely delivered. This role is ideal for those who prefer contract-to-contract work and are not seeking full-time employment (e.g.). Most projects are 4-8 weeks in duration, allowing you to choose how many projects you want to take on and manage your own time, including ample time off. Successful applicants will participate in Bright Circle’s in-house bid training program and will be mentored and coached through their first jobs. RequiredTertiary qualification in arts, writing, engineering, communications, journalism, or business. Current PhD or Masters students welcome.An excellent writer and editor with a love for words and a flair for crystallising complex messages into simple, striking and persuasive writing.Live within an hour’s commute to the city to work on site when on projects (2-3 days a week). Be an excellent communicator - especially about managing workload and communicating proactively about issues so that we can help. PreferableExperience working in the corporate sector. Experience working in marketing, communications, consulting with a bid/proposal component will be highly regarded. Experience managing multiple stakeholders and multiple deadlines. LocationHybrid (2-3 days per week in the office). Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane-based to facilitate hybrid work.
