Join Our Specialist After-Hours Team: Mental Health & Social Emotional Wellbeing Service At PCCS, we’re pioneering a path in mental health and social emotional wellbeing services. Our service is a beacon of hope and support for those who need help when most other doors are closed — evenings, weekends, and those in-between moments when challenges feel the heaviest. We work with a diverse community — Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse groups, and people of all ages — offering opportunities that are personalised, strengths-based, and genuinely responsive. Why After-Hours? For many people, evenings and weekends are the first moment they can stop, reflect, and reach out for help. As part of our after-hours team, you’ll be there when it matters most — the voice on the other end of the line, the guide who can connect someone to the right support, and the reassurance they’re not alone. It’s also a role that offers you a different kind of balance: Days free for study, family, caring responsibilities, or other passions. No battling peak-hour parking. Penalty rates for evening and weekend work. Your Role: More Than a Job As our after-hours specialist, you’ll be the concierge of mental health services — listening deeply, understanding what matters to each person, and guiding them toward the right pathway. Whether it’s a straightforward referral or a creative solution to meet unique needs, you’ll make each interaction count. Core responsibilities include: Being the warm, non-judgmental first point of contact for after-hours enquiries. Conducting needs assessments to understand each individual’s situation. Providing clear, informed referrals and service navigation. Following up to ensure smooth and supportive care journeys. Championing a strengths-based approach that focuses on what’s strong, not just what’s wrong. What We’re Looking For Genuine empathy and curiosity about people’s unique stories. A strengths-based mindset and excellent communication skills. Ability to explore, explain, and connect people to services that fit them best. Flexibility, creativity, and comfort with problem-solving in the moment. Relevant qualifications — Degree in Social Work, Nursing, or other Allied Health professions with mental health experience. Required clearances — NDIS Worker Screening & Working With Children Check. What’s On Offer Attractive remuneration plus superannuation and after-hours penalty rates. Tax-free salary packaging up to $15,900 p.a. and $2,500 meal & entertainment allowance. Generous leave provisions including 17.5% annual leave loading. Strong team support and regular debriefs — you’ll never feel “on your own.” Funded professional development and growth opportunities within PCCS. Access to Employee Assistance Program. Role Details Hours: Evenings (5pm–9pm) and Saturdays (10am–6pm) — approx. 26 hours/week. Contract: 6 months with potential to extend. Be part of a team that makes help available when it’s needed most. If you want your work to truly matter — and to fit around your life — we’d love to hear from you.
