James Construction Queensland are seeking a skilled and motivated Site Supervisor/ Foreperson to join our hard-working team based in Cairns. The Site Supervisor is responsible for the effective day-to-day management of on-site construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to the required quality standards. This role plays a key part in coordinating trades, subcontractors, and internal teams while maintaining compliance with workplace health and safety (WHS) and company procedures. Responsibilites Oversee and manage daily on-site operations for a successful delivery of projects for the company Communicate with the project team to ensure that daily and fortnightly milestones are met in line with program Manage site establishment and demobilisation Implement site safety systems (IMS) and ensure a safe working environment for all Regular communication with construction manager and project manager Communicate staff and resource requirements for each project WHS – ensure an efficient and safe quality of work according to company’s standards and regulations Assign task to tradespeople on site Supervise apprentices Ensure effective use of materials and equipment on site Induct staff and subcontractors to site Read project plans, specifications and understand relevant building standards to ensure building compliance Monitor attendance of direct staff and subcontractors on site Monitor subcontractors' scope of works and fulfilment of contract Communicate with staff on site and office staff Identify and resolving problems throughout the construction process Skills Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Sound knowledge of WHS regulations and safe work practices Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure Well organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities Qualifications & Experience Minimum Certificate III in Carpentry or similar White Card Proven experience as a Site Supervisor or in a similar construction management role Knowledge of building codes, standards, and relevant legislation First Aid certification (desirable) Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
