Job Description The Associate Director, Corporate Affairs and New Markets – JAPAC & New Markets plays a pivotal leadership role in shaping and executing BeOne’s corporate reputation, regional communications strategy, and patient engagement agenda across Japan and the Asia-Pacific, and the New Markets region. Job Description The Associate Director, Corporate Affairs and New Markets – JAPAC & New Markets plays a pivotal leadership role in shaping and executing BeOne’s corporate reputation, regional communications strategy, and patient engagement agenda across Japan and the Asia-Pacific, and the New Markets region. This role brings together high-impact storytelling, external influence, and cross-functional collaboration to elevate BeOne’s visibility, purpose, and position as a global oncology leader. This role is accountable for delivering integrated corporate affairs initiatives—spanning media relations, executive visibility, stakeholder engagement, and access-enabling partnerships—with an emphasis on driving alignment across diverse markets and amplifying the voice of patients and partners. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong track record in healthcare communications, who can operate autonomously, influence globally, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-integrity environment. Core Responsibilities Strategic Communications & Thought Leadership Lead the development and execution of integrated, multi-market communications strategies that elevate BeOne’s corporate narrative and support access, innovation, and impact across JAPAC and New Markets. Ensure alignment with global and regional priorities, reinforcing brand consistency and storytelling across internal and external channels—including media, internal communications, public affairs, and digital content. Serve as a strategic advisor to regional and country leadership on visibility, reputation, and positioning opportunities. Craft high-impact executive communications, including op-eds, LinkedIn content, keynote remarks, and media narratives. Manage media engagement, agency partners, and participation in high-level conferences, policy forums, and stakeholder events. Patient Engagement & Stakeholder Influence Build trusted relationships with patient organisations, advocacy leaders, and other healthcare stakeholders to shape BeOne’s communications and ensure the patient voice is meaningfully embedded in strategy. Collaborate closely with Medical, Regulatory, Commercial, Market Access, and Policy teams to co-create campaigns and materials that improve patient understanding and treatment literacy. Support cross-regional initiatives that amplify patient perspectives and align engagement efforts across diverse and underrepresented markets. Regional Integration, Policy Support & Crisis Preparedness Lead corporate affairs planning for business expansions, new market entries, and regional campaigns—ensuring messaging coherence across countries with varying healthcare systems. Support coordinated responses to key policy and regulatory challenges impacting oncology in JAPAC and adjacent regions. Design and implement a regional crisis communication framework in collaboration with country teams and risk management partners. Serve as a strategic advisor during issue escalation and reputational response planning. Executive Visibility & Cross-Functional Influence Partner with JAPAC leadership to build thought leadership platforms, including content development and external engagement opportunities. Position senior leaders as regional oncology advocates through managed social media, speaking engagements, and authored content. Represent Corporate Affairs on cross-functional working groups and strategic initiatives, influencing alignment across Medical, Legal, Commercial, and Global teams. Mentor junior colleagues and support capability building through development of scalable processes, toolkits, and templates. Ensure consistent, high-quality execution of communications across geographies and functions by coordinating with global communications colleagues and external partners. Qualification Required Education Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred. Experience Minimum 8-10 years of experience in healthcare communications, either: Within a pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences company; or At a communications agency with demonstrated work supporting pharmaceutical or healthcare industry clients. Core Competencies Expertise in delivering integrated communications strategies in highly regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, pharma, biotech). Understanding of the regions healthcare systems and policy landscape. Strong capability in media relations, message development, and thought leadership positioning. Experience managing multi-stakeholder projects across internal teams and external partners (e.g., advocacy groups, vendors, agencies). Proven success in driving visibility, reputation, and access-focused initiatives, particularly in oncology or similar high-impact therapeutic areas. Additional Competencies Proficient in English (spoken and written). Experience working across time zones and within a global, matrixed environment. Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and lead through collaboration. Creative, proactive, and adaptable mindset with a strong sense of initiative. Fluency in a second language is desirable, reflecting our global context.
