The key duties of the position include What you will do as the Senior Stakeholder Engagement and Government Relations Officer Contribute to executive support for the Chair, Board and CEO for external engagement including identifying priority issues and coordinating relevant briefing material and advice. Provide advice and support to other areas of the AER about best practice stakeholder engagement as part of their ongoing project work that promotes the AER's proactive engagement with a broad range of external stakeholders including government, industry and consumer groups to achieve the AER's strategic objectives. Engage and coordinate with internal stakeholders to support the AER's external facing obligations and engagements including participation in parliamentary processes (such as Senate Estimates and Inquiries). Work with staff across the agency to improve access to consumer insights (panels, focus groups etc), including leading secretariat support for the Customer Consultative Group.
