What you’ll do Do you have what it takes to become a Smartgroup Senior Software Engineer? Are you passionate about solving complex business problems through scalable software solutions? In this role, you’ll be accountable for implementing complex technical solutions while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the technical direction of our products. Join our dynamic team and help shape the future of our technology landscape. Key responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions for complex business challenges. Lead technical design discussions and make architectural decisions for major features. Review code, provide constructive feedback, and uphold high quality standards. Collaborate with product managers to refine requirements and propose effective technical solutions. Identify and resolve technical debt and system bottlenecks. Mentor and guide junior developers to support their growth and development. Advocate for and implement best practices across the development lifecycle. Communicate regularly with stakeholders to ensure alignment of goals and timelines. Participate in retrospectives and contribute to continuous improvement of processes and workflows. Who you are 5 years of professional software development experience, preferably in fast-paced, problem-solving environments such as fintech, IT firms or startups. Proven ability to build and maintain large-scale applications with a strong focus on performance optimization. Solid background in agile methodologies, microservices, and event-driven architecture. Strong practice of test-driven development and familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps culture. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP). Skilled in working with databases such as SQL Server, Postgres, and Redis. Familiarity with tools similar to DataDog, LaunchDarkly is preferred. Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
