Prooftec isseeking a Senior Software/System Engineer to join the team tobuild next-generation solutions that empower our customers with clear, evidence-based insights into vehicle conditions to streamline workflows and minimise disputes. Our tech stack covers image acquisition (Swift/Java), analysis (Python/OpenCV/Torch/Tensorflow), and results presentation (ReactJS TypeScript), all integrated with AWS cloud. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Making a place where our users happily interact with imagery, metadata and AI results, connecting an innovative front-end to cloud system. Design and implement robust systems and data architectures which cover the AI processing pipeline from data acquisition, via analysis, to results presentation, as well as supporting tools. Engage in hands-on coding, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure efficient, high-quality delivery of projects. Work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business needs into technical requirements. Provide support for bugs and outages, both analysis for task allocation and hands-on solving. Mentor junior developers and other team members. Integrating with the systems and platforms of our partners and customers. About You: 5 years experience in relevant engineering/development roles. You can design cross-component system and data architectures and hands-on implement them. You may have some special skills, but with your fundamental understanding of software engineering, you’re not afraid to jump into a new framework or language. You can communicate well with specialists in the team as well as other stakeholders, and you switch easily between big picture and detail. Your experience overlaps with our tech stack, and for the missing parts you’re willing to fill the gap. Affinity with probabilistic systems, preferably computer vision, and curiosity to take advantage of new technologies. Startup attitude: flexible and trade off risk/reward, team player, good communication skills, bright mind. You need to have Australian working rights.
