About the role We are currently recruiting for a Senior Report Developer. As the Senior Report Developer, you will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of Power BI report and dataset development. This includes the stages of development, testing, deployment, and ongoing management. You will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to define functional requirements and ensuring that the reports align with these specified needs. The Senior Report Developer plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of reporting from various data sources. You will collaborate closely with data modelers and engineers to extract relevant and precise information. This joint effort enhances the overall effectiveness of the reports, making them an essential part of the process. This role is permanent and can be based anywhere within Essential Energy’s operational footprint with Port Macquarie being the desired location. Key responsibilities Conduct key stakeholder meetings to gather functional specification requirements Using Power BI, develop and maintain data analytics solutions, including data visualisations, to meet the needs of key stakeholders Develop, test and deploy solutions to multiple environments; and maintain technical documentation for these solutions Review and analyse systems to ensure adequate performance and maintenance, ensuring that data pipelines and data stores are efficient, organised and reliable Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses to ensure interoperability with data solutions Perform data profiling and analysis and create ad-hoc data models, reports and analysis as needed to support business requirements Analyse user requirements and, based on findings, design functional specifications for front-end Applications Implement Power BI row-level security to ensure data confidentiality Utilise Power BI tabular editor for advanced Power BI configuration and Power BI incremental load to enhance data refresh processes. About You You will bring experience in a similar role with extensive experience in business intelligence, reporting/analytic and in delivering data solutions in complex environments. More specifically you will possess, Experience on data warehousing architecture, modelling, and development Practical experience in designing, deploying and operating complex ICT Reporting and Integration systems Experience in business intelligence and reporting/analytic and in delivering data solutions in complex environments Experience with data processing languages, such as SQL, Python, or Scala, and understanding of parallel processing and data architecture patterns Working knowledge of the Microsoft technology stack (Power BI, Azure, SQL Server, Integration Services, Analysis Services, Tabular, Reporting Services, etc) Working knowledge of Azure Databricks Required Qualifications Degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Management, Information Technology, Data Management or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualification Why Essential Energy We offer competitive remuneration commensurate with skills and experience and 16% superannuation.
