DVA is seeking a person who is passionate about veterans and their families, to help deliver the Veteran Employment Program within the Transition Branch of the Veteran Experience and Transition Division. The Veteran Employment Program delivers initiatives that support Australian organisations to improve employment outcomes for veterans and partners. This includes promoting the skills veterans bring to the civilian workforce to increase employment opportunities for veterans and their partners, as well as encouraging and supporting employers to recruit and retain veterans and build veteran- inclusive work environments. The successful applicant will have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including at senior levels. You will have strong attention to detail, be confident in engaging with veterans and employers, and possess skills of a high-level in written communication. You will work with a high level of autonomy, managing competing priorities, operating under broad direction in a fast-paced and busy environment. A communications background would be beneficial. The key duties of the position include Contribute to and support the growth of the Veteran Employment Commitment Contribute to the delivery of the Prime Minister's National Veterans Employment Awards including organising and supporting nomination and judging processes, as well as managing a range of contracts to coordinate logistics for the event Conduct procurement processes for key elements of the awards delivery and content production for the program Deliver the VEP communications plan in line with the VEP communications and engagement strategy to promote the work of the program and grow awareness of the Veteran Employment Commitment among industry Manage the VEP social media pages and develop regular social media posts that promote the work of the program, as well as develop content for the Veteran Employment Program Website Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders in a range of settings to support the Veteran Employment Commitment and inform the development of communications products Develop comprehensive written communications including coordinating and drafting educational materials, ministerial submissions, reports and briefings for senior executives Assist across the Veteran Employment Program, as required.
