The Communications and Engagement Branch leads the Murray Darling Basin Authority's (MDBA) internal and external communications, as well as stakeholder and relationship management. It plays a central role in building trust and transparency with the public, Basin communities, other government departments, industry, and international partners, while also fostering an informed, connected, and engaged workforce. The Branch's work covers a wide range of channels and activities, including digital and social media, production, UX, publications, media releases, corporate communications, national and international engagement, and event management. Working under limited direction, the Senior Multimedia Officer will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of the MDBA's web and online content. The role will focus on development of creative, impactful and user-centred (UX) ways to share the agency's work through established web and online channels to effectively engage audiences and deliver visual storytelling that strengthens public understanding and perceptions of the MDBA. This role is suited to a versatile, proactive, and highly organised multimedia professional with strong technical skills, creative problem-solving, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams to translate complex information into accessible and visually engaging content in a variety of formats. The key duties of the position include Plan, develop and deliver high-quality digital, visual, and multimedia products to support the MDBA's communication priorities and business objectives. Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of Studio-related projects, ensuring effective risk management, project governance, resourcing and reporting to deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within scope. Engage with internal stakeholders to uplift the MDBA's web and online content with creative UX/UI solutions to deliver impactful storytelling across established channels. Support the timely delivery of impactful multimedia products and services including but not limited to graphic design, web content, digital and print content, and studio production. Assist with photography, videography and other production services where required. Manage the MDBA's web and digital channels, conducting scheduled updates, coordinating uplift initiatives, and ensuring consistent, modern, and up-to-date communications are reflected. Support the MDBA's digital asset management systems and multimedia archiving processes. Work closely with teams across the branch to deliver clear, impactful multimedia content to internal and external audiences that effectively convey MDBA's purpose and messaging. Liaise with internal subject matter experts to translate complex information into accessible and visually engaging multimedia content across web and online platforms. Support procurement and coordination efforts of external vendors where required. Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired goals. This includes anticipating and responding to stakeholder needs and expectations, as well as representing the function in cross-agency and community forums as required. Monitor quality assurance of web and online content to ensure all studio outputs are impactful, consistent, and align with the MDBA's tone, visual identity and strategic narrative, as well as meeting relevant legislative, policy and accessibility requirements. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of web and online engagement and feedback. Support continuous improvement by making recommendations where required. Stay attuned to emerging design, UX and digital trends, techniques and technologies, and align approach to remain current with identified trends. Develop content guidelines, tools and templates to build internal capability, and contribute to team collaboration and knowledge-sharing. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of government design standards, accessibility requirements and relevant policies. At all times, act in accordance with and model the MDBA Purpose and Values and the APS Values and Code of Conduct. Perform other duties as required from time to time.
