As Senior Manager, Payments Risk, you’ll play a key role in strengthening Westpac’s risk capability across the payments landscape. You’ll provide expert oversight and insights, helping the business understand and manage payments risk with confidence. This role sits within our second line of defence, supporting the Payments Risk Class Owner and collaborating across teams to deliver meaningful, data-driven outcomes for our customers. You’ll be based in Sydney in a full-time capacity, with flexible working arrangements available. Reporting to the Executive Manager, Payments & Operational Resilience Risk, you’ll work closely with stakeholders across the Group to influence strategy, uplift frameworks, and drive continuous improvement. What do I need? We’re looking for a strategic thinker with strong subject matter expertise and a collaborative mindset. To succeed in this role, you’ll bring: Deep knowledge of payments, including cards, domestic/international transactions, merchant acquiring or interbank settlement. Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities. A solid understanding of risk frameworks, regulatory requirements, and payments scheme obligations. A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work independently and prioritise effectively. Why join us?
