The key duties of the position include The Senior Digital Forensics Officer is a specialist position within the NACC responsible for leading and managing digital forensics support to NACC investigations. The role requires expertise in digital forensics, cyber security, and electronic evidence management. The position undertakes a range of activities that involve the handling of highly sensitive, confidential and at times offensive material or images. The successful candidate may be required to conduct interstate travel and may be required to attend court to provide evidence. Duties The successful candidate will work under the general direction of the Director Digital Forensics. Key activities of this position include: Lead digital forensic investigations, ensuring that evidence is obtained, preserved, and analysed in accordance with best practices and legal requirements. Maintain expertise and understanding of relevant legislative, regulatory, and compliance frameworks to provide detailed technical, operational, and procedural advice in relation to complex digital forensic problems. Develop and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies and industry partners, to enhance the NACC's digital forensic capabilities. Provide expert advice on digital forensic matters to other stakeholders and represent the NACC in digital forensic-related forums and conferences. Develop and implement quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of digital forensic evidence and associated reporting. Conduct ongoing research and tasks relating to electronic investigation methodologies, tools and legislative requirements. Be available to deploy into the field and interstate in support of NACC investigations and operational activity. Be available to attend court at times to present digital forensic evidence in support of NACC prosecutions. The NACC is a small agency. In addition to these activities, from time to time you may be asked to undertake tasks that are outside your usual span of duties but that are within the range of your capabilities. Supporting one another in this way provides opportunities for exposure across the agency and is an integral part of the NACC's positive workplace culture.
