The key duties of the position include Senior Data Scientists at the ACCC play a pivotal role in applying advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to support investigations and improve ways of working. They are intellectually curious, thrive on solving novel problems, and focus on delivering insights that directly inform decision-making. These professionals often juggle multiple projects, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to translate complex business challenges into data-driven solutions. You will: Collaborate with teams to define business problems and translate them into data questions. Clean, merge, and transform data from diverse sources; apply statistical, AI, and machine learning techniques to generate insights or build solutions. Create static and interactive visualisations tailored to different audiences; clearly communicate technical findings through reports, presentations, and discussions. Build strong relationships across the agency, mentor junior data professionals, and contribute to team-wide capability-building initiatives.
