The Senior Data Policy Lead (EL1) is a full-time, ongoing role available for immediate start. This position requires practical experience in data management and governance, including the development of data policies, processes and other data governance artefacts. The successful candidate will use their skills and knowledge of industry best practices to support the Agency's data strategy and maturity plan, while ensuring alignment with the Agency's Data Governance Framework. A key focus of the role is to drive meaningful progress in how the Agency manages and governs its data. In this pivotal role, you will Lead strategic initiatives to elevate the Agency's data management, strategy, policy, governance, and overall data maturity. Provide leadership on data policy matters , offering guidance and support to ensure the Agency's data practices are consistent, effective, and aligned with strategic goals. Collaborate across business areas to embed best-practice data governance, data management and support enterprise-wide data initiatives. Drive compliance with the Agency's Data Governance Framework and champion our journey toward accreditation under the Data Accessibility and Transparency Act Schem e. The key duties of the position include Skills and Experience Hands-on experience in a data policy or data governance role. Solid understanding of data management practices, including policies and processes. Experience contributing to or leading improvements in data strategy and governance. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in data management. Confidence working with frameworks and ensuring compliance. Strong communication skills and the ability to support teams with policy advice and problem-solving.
