Secondary Outdoor Ed/ PE Teacher (Fixed Term) Tenure: 1 Year Fixed Term (With the possibility of ongoing for the right candidate) Mount Evelyn Christian School is seeking a dynamic secondary Outdoor Ed/ PE teacher. This is a fixed term, full time position (1.0 FTE), commencing 21 January 2026. This position could suit a new graduate or experienced Secondary Outdoor Ed/ PE Teacher. All levels of experience are welcome. We would like the successful applicant to wholeheartedly join a team implementing a distinctively biblical approach to education. Key selection criteria Relevant teaching qualifications in Physical Education / Outdoor Education. The ability to teach Science would be looked on favourably. Must have capacity to teach Outdoor Ed / Physical Education (essential). Knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum and ability to deliver engaging, age-appropriate programs. Willingness to contribute to co-curricular programs, including sport, camps and outdoor activities. Passionate about Outdoor Ed / Physical Education and able to inspire students. Is able to articulate a Christian perspective for learning and shapes curriculum and pedagogy accordingly. Can pursue innovative approaches to teaching and learning. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with students, parents and staff. Commitment to professional growth and working collaboratively as part of a team. VIT registration to teach. The successful applicant will need to: Be in agreement with, and actively commit to, the Christian ethos and Core Values as expressed in the MECS ‘Focus on Identity’ document. Be able to prioritise, problem solve, demonstrate initiative and utilise common sense.
