Barray Alliance is seeking an experienced and compassionate Family Outreach Coordinator to join our team. This role is pivotal in providing both hands-on case management and strong leadership to our family support team. You will lead by example, mentor caseworkers, and provide guidance through complex cases and challenging events, ensuring our team delivers culturally safe, strengths-based services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families. In this role, you’ll not only support families directly, but also play a key part in growing the capability and wellbeing of the team. You’ll work closely with caseworkers, offering coaching and debriefing to help them navigate difficult situations while maintaining resilience and professional boundaries. What you'll do: Provide leadership, mentoring, and day-to-day support to caseworkers, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment. Guide and assist team members through complex or high-stress cases, offering practical strategies and emotional support. Deliver culturally safe, strengths-based case management to families, focusing on building confidence, setting goals, and connecting them with services. Coordinate and facilitate outreach programs, workshops, and community events. Build strong, respectful relationships with Elders, community leaders, and local organisations to ensure services reflect community needs. Maintain accurate records, reporting, and compliance in line with organisational and funding requirements. About You: We’re looking for someone who brings both experience and heart to this role. You’ll need: A Diploma in social work, community development, health administration, or equivalent experience. Proven leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop others, including supporting team members through difficult cases or events. 2-3 years’ experience in case management, family support, or outreach services, ideally working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Experience supporting individuals and families impacted by domestic and family violence, using a trauma-informed approach. Strong relationship-building and communication skills. Knowledge of local health and community service systems A valid driver’s licence and ability to obtain required clearances. Why Join Us?
