The Australian Human Rights Commission (the Commission) is Australia's national human rights institution, dedicated to fostering a society where human rights are upheld, protected, and celebrated. The Age Discrimination Team undertakes a program of policy and project work to ensure equal access to human rights for people of all ages. This includes a new program of work involving the development and delivery of education and public awareness workshops on ageism. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Project Officer to join our team contribute to the development, delivery and implementation of public awareness workshops on ageism and other related education activities. This full-time / part time, non-ongoing position will be until 17 February 2027, and it offers a competitive salary range of $84,228 - $92,172 per annum plus 15.4% superannuation. We offer flexible, hybrid work options. The key duties of the position include What You'll Do: Scope, develop and deliver external workshops on ageism awareness for Australian Government agencies, non-government agencies, community and private sector organisations and the Australian community. Develop, update and customise educational and workshop materials as needed including training manuals, factsheets, feedback forms, online educational modules etc. Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and reporting activities. Identify, maintain and nurture networks and liaise with identified internal and external stakeholders across a range of constituencies, communities, government agencies and organisations to support project goals and priorities. Respond to requests for workshops from external stakeholders, including the provision of advice and relevant information. Provide organisational and logistical support for education and public awareness activities, including liaising with other internal teams, monitoring team mailbox, maintaining internal files, updating web content and social media. Contribute to additional research, policy development and planning activities to support and promote project outcomes, the Age Discrimination Commissioner's work and Commission's strategic priorities more broadly. Work effectively within a small high performing team and respond flexibly to changing work demands.
