The Bureau has been engaged by the Queensland Reconstruction Authority to deliver the next stage in an upgraded Southeast Queensland Flood Forecast and Warning System (SEQ FFWS). This position will support management of the project to ensure on time delivery of a production ready system that meets contract requirements and stakeholder needs. The Project Officer role exists to provide project support, quality control and guidance to the SEQ FFWS project team, promoting governance standards, tools and templates, and to provide support to Project Manager and team members. The Project Officer role will be expected to contribute effectively across a diverse range of skillsets including accounts payable, documentation control, procurement, PMO functions, reporting & vendor management. To be successful in the role, you must be agile and able to adapt to the evolving needs of the program, meet deadlines, marshal broad stakeholder expertise towards common outcomes, and have a meticulous approach to maintaining quality standards. Within this role, there will be flexibility to influence and utilise your expertise to enhance the overall outcomes of the program. This position reports to the Project Manager SEQ FFWS. Merit pool The selection process will establish a merit pool that may be used to fill similar positions within 18 months. The key duties of the position include The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: 1. Build and maintain trusted working relationships and networks across the SEQ FFWS Project. 2. Ensure effective project delivery through the provision of daily program support including quality, controls, standards, tools and templates 3. Use recommended project control solutions for planning, scheduling and maintaining project files, including the effective management of key program/project documentation 4. Contribute to the coordination of monthly project reporting requirements 5. Contribute to project financial management requirements and reporting 6. Support Project Manager with logging, tracking and reporting risks, issues, dependencies and assumptions 7. Coordination, planning and facilitation of project meetings and workshops as needed 8. Provide input to the continual improvement of Delivery Office & Program standards, processes and ways of working 9. Comply with all Bureau work, health and safety policies and procedures, and take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of employees, contractors and visitors who may be affected by your conduct 10.
