The key duties of the position include The Role Within the Project Management function an APS 6 Project Manager is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve project management work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements. An APS 6 Project Manager will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work. They will exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures. They will provide detailed project management technical, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development. An APS 6 Project Manager may be a team coach or lead a team and be accountable to set work priorities and manage workflows. They are expected to be capable of building team capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within a work unit. They will exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve work unit outcomes. An APS 6 Project Manager will have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex or difficult issues. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders? needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development. About our Team Effective estate and infrastructure is critical for the Defence Intelligence Group (DIG) to be able to enable its people to deliver Defence capability. The DIG Estate directorate performs the critical interface function between the DIG business units and the Security and Estate Group (SEG) for all property matters. Our Ideal Candidate DIG is seeking an experienced and motivated facilities office to join the Estate team with one position in Canberra and one in Bendigo. To be successful in this role you will have: A strong WHS awareness and understanding. Experience managing multiple contracted trades. Demonstrated awareness of security requirements within high security environments. Ability to coordinate with stakeholders. Understand the inherent requirements of working in an industrial setting. Hold or be willing to hold White Card and other construction safety qualifications. Be results focused with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong oral and written communication including demonstrated interpersonal skills. Be able to work in a fluid environment by remaining flexible, agile and adaptable A good attention to detail. A valid Australian drivers licence.
