About the role Are you a passionate, experienced leader with a commitment to supporting women and children impacted by family violence? We are seeking a dedicated female leader to oversee our domestic and family violence (DFV) accommodation and support services across the Sydney region. This role is a unique opportunity to lead trauma-informed, best-practice programs that empower women and children on their journey toward safety, stability, and recovery. This is a full-time, permanent position based in inner-east Sydney, NSW, reporting to the Family Violence and Modern Slavery State Manager. The role is classified under SCHADS Level 7, with salary based on experience. Occasional travel between our two Sydney service sites may be required. Due to the nature of this service, to identify as a woman is a genuine occupational qualification for this position under s.31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW). How you will make an impact Oversee the delivery of trauma-informed Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) programs, ensuring accessibility and cultural safety. Lead intake, case management, and on-call systems to support consistent, high-quality practice. Ensure compliance with funding and regulatory frameworks, manage budgets, and uphold safety standards. Lead service responses to risk, client feedback, and complex incidents. Provide supervision and leadership to Team Leaders and DFV practitioners. Promote staff wellbeing, support professional development, and cultivate a positive, learning-focused team culture. Drive recruitment and workforce planning to meet service demands. Drive local service strategy and align operational plans with national practice models. Review and improve service design, using data and client feedback to inform best practice. Lead quality assurance and prepare for sector accreditation. Build collaborative partnerships with community services, government, and DFV networks. Represent the service at key forums and contribute to sector development and advocacy. Support business development and contribute to funding submissions. What you will bring Degree-qualified in Social Work, Psychology, or related discipline. Demonstrated leadership experience in domestic and family violence services—including refuge or crisis accommodation settings. Proven ability to lead teams delivering case management and outreach support. Strong strategic and operational management skills, with a focus on risk, compliance, and service excellence. Experience building partnerships and working collaboratively across sectors. High-level communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
