Provide support to the department's Procurement Approval Board (PAB) within the Procurement Operations team Ongoing, Full-Time opportunity VPS4 salary between $97,955 - $111,142 plus superannuation The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Procurement Governance Officer to provide a critical role within Finance and Procurement - Procurement and Property Services. About the Business Unit The Finance and Procurement business unit provides department-wide financial, procurement and workplace services through strategic leadership and setting the direction, policy, and processes, and partnering with the department to build capability. Procurement and Property Services monitors and reports on procurement performance and manages several high-profile strategic projects to minimise procurement risk and support the delivery of value for money. It is also responsible for the effective operation and management of asset maintenance, fleet and property, and facilities management services across the department. About the Role The role is responsible for the efficient and effective administration of the department's Procurement Approval Board (PAB) within the Procurement Operations team. Working with the PAB Secretariat, the Procurement Governance Officer will ensure the workflow of submissions to the PAB is streamlined, policy compliant and auditable, supporting timely and relevant responses. Additionally, the role will ensure that reportable procurement governance requirements are compliant with departmental and Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB) supply policies. Some of your duties will include: Liaise with senior staff in business units and external agencies to ensure compliance with government and departmental policy and to maintain a high level of awareness of developments in procurement. Provide support to the PAB Secretariat, ensuring timely and compliant passage of submissions through a well-documented workflow. Review business unit submissions to the PAB for accuracy and compliance with departmental policy. To learn more about this role before applying, please read the attached position description. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: Probity and Integrity: Support probity and integrity in procurement through the application of integrity policies and controls, to achieve value for money outcomes from procurement activities Legislative, regulation and policy context awareness: Identify, interpret, and advise on existing procurement related legislation, regulation and policy Framework Management: Apply framework to processes, governance and compliance and educating others on where to locate and how to apply frameworks Strategy Planning, development, and implementation: Work with colleagues to provide reasonable advice on the development of strategies. Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualifications, preferably encompassing procurement, supply chain, commerce, law or business administration is highly desirable.
