Capital Markets Post-Trade Systems Engineer Sydney / Melbourne / Brisbane We are seeking a skilled Post-Trade Engineer to join a Capital Markets technology team. This role will play a key part in configuring, enhancing, and supporting a leading post-trade processing platform, with strong functional knowledge in middle and back-office operations. You’ll combine technical expertise with domain knowledge of the trade lifecycle, including trade capture and confirmations, pre-matching, clearing and settlement, custody, and accounting ledger operations. Key Responsibilities Configure, support, and optimise post-trade platforms for equities, fixed income, and derivatives. Translate business requirements into workflows, integration solutions, and system configurations. Develop and maintain interfaces with upstream trading platforms and downstream custodians, clearing houses, and reporting systems. Ensure system stability, scalability, and performance for high-volume post-trade transactions. Provide Level 2/3 production support, root cause analysis, and issue resolution. Participate in upgrades, patches, and migration projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile/DevOps environments. Must-Have Skills Strong programming experience in Java . Hands-on with Oracle/SQL (queries, stored procedures, performance tuning). Knowledge of Unix/Linux (scripting, troubleshooting). Experience with integration technologies (MQ, REST/SOAP APIs, XML, ISO20022). Solid functional understanding of the capital markets trade lifecycle , especially: Settlement workflows (DVP, FOP, T1/T2 cycles, partial settlement, fails management). Custody operations (asset servicing, safekeeping, reconciliations, client reporting). Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with production support experience. Good-to-Have Skills .NET experience (for adaptors or reporting tools). Exposure to corporate actions, fees & billing, and collateral management. Familiarity with regulatory initiatives (T1 settlement, CSDR, MiFID, etc.). Scripting skills in Python for automation. Knowledge of monitoring & logging tools (Splunk, AppDynamics, ELK). Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket). Exposure to other post-trade platforms (e.g., Broadridge, Calypso, Murex, TCS BaNCS). Submit your resume for an immediate review.
