About the Team The Operational Policy and support section has talented and passionate people that work with key stakeholders internal and external to the commission to troubleshoot complex problems with innovative solutions to ensure our regulatory practices meet the needs of older Australians. The section is a fast-paced environment and provides diverse policy opportunities across various programs of work. About the Role The APS 4 Policy Officer helps to develop and implement policy that operationalises the Commission's regulatory functions. In other words, shaping how the Commission actions its responsibilities as the regulator of aged care services. The APS 4 Policy Officer does this by supporting collaboration with stakeholders to ensure quality assurance, best practices, and continuous improvement are integrated into the Commission's regulatory policies and processes. The key duties of the position include Conduct research and analysis to support the development and review of operational policy for the Commission Using plain English, prepare and contribute to policy briefs, discussion papers, and internal operational policy and guidance to support operational practice. Drafting, updating and reviewing the Commission's operational guidance materials. Coordinate and support stakeholder engagement processes to promote the delivery of desired outcomes Interpret and apply legislation to develop operational policy or provide policy advice to operational stakeholders Support policy programs, including working collaboratively with different policy teams. Provide administrative supports by coordinating meetings, minutes and actions of meetings and managing program and project documentation. Communicates effectively with, and follows direction and instructions provided by supervisors. Ensure policy documentation meets Commission standards and is aligned with relevant legislative frameworks
