The Commonwealth Security Policy (CSP) Branch is the central policy area for Government cyber and protective security policy. This includes the direction and administration of whole-of-government cyber and protective security policy. The Branch is responsible for relationships with key industry bodies and government entities to deliver a measurable improvement in the security, resilience and response of Government to the modern day threat environment. The CSP Branch leads policy development for the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and Hosting Certification Framework (HCF) on behalf of the Minister for Home Affairs, continued development and implementation of the Systems of Government Security Regime, and the uplift of Commonwealth Government cyber security policy. There are several vacant positions across the Branch. Successful candidates will work within a team to development and implement policy and programs designed to address some of the most pressing and emerging national security challenges. Depending on the specific role, the successful applicants would have: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and persuasively to influence outcome and produce high quality ministerial or executive briefings and submissions Willingness to take the lead or work as part of a team to deliver our priorities Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and with the ability to be a positive team member within the Branch Understanding of, or ability to gain an understanding of, cyber security or protective security policy to assist in the delivery of new policy initiatives and frameworks across government The ability to work independently to achieve outcomes Demonstrated integrity and sound judgement when engaging with risk Desirable attributes: Candidates with policy experience or tertiary qualifications in cyber security, protective security, international relations, intelligence or operational governance would be highly regarded. The key duties of the position include The Commonwealth Security Policy has multiple current and expected vacancies for APS6 Policy Officers. Within the Branch, you will work within your team and across your Section to: Work both autonomously and collaboratively to contribute to key policy initiatives and ongoing programs, in line with current priorities and in response to emerging and future threat vectors and opportunities. Engage across agencies and with industry stakeholders to support strategic policy development across a number of cyber and protective security related initiatives. Contribute to the development and implementation of the Systems of Government Significance Regime. Maintain the Protective Security Policy Framework and support Australian Government entities to effectively implement information, technology, personnel, physical, risk and governance security policy. Manage independent assessments of technology companies through the Hosting Certification Framework. Develop quality briefing materials and advice to support the Department's identified strategic priorities and engagement with Government, industry and international stakeholders.
