The Performance Test Lead is responsible for leading and managing performance and resilience testing activities across integration and data platforms. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of systems by designing and executing robust testing frameworks and strategies. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical expertise, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the testing domain. The key duties of the position include The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: Lead and Manage Performance and Resilience Testing Activities Oversee the planning, execution, and reporting of performance and resilience testing across integration and data platforms. Ensure testing aligns with business continuity and disaster recovery objectives. Stakeholder Collaboration and Requirement Validation Work closely with test analysts, business analysts, developers, and SMEs to gather, validate, and refine performance testing requirements. Facilitate workshops and technical discussions to ensure alignment on performance goals and KPIs. Automated Performance Test Design and Execution Develop, maintain, and execute automated performance test scripts using industry-standard tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling). Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous performance validation. Manual Test Case Development and Execution Design and manage manual performance test cases where automation is not feasible. Ensure comprehensive coverage of performance scenarios including peak load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing. Cross-Functional Team Engagement Operate within agile, waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies. Act as a performance testing SME within cross-functional project teams, contributing to sprint planning and retrospectives. Performance Testing Framework Development Architect and implement reusable hardware and software performance testing frameworks. Ensure frameworks support distributed testing, cloud environments, and containerized applications. Testing Strategy and Governance Contribute to the development and governance of enterprise-wide testing strategies. Define performance testing standards, policies, and procedures. Technical Expertise and Advisory Provide expert guidance on performance testing tools, techniques, and environments. Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of performance issues. Operational Metrics and Monitoring Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to gather and analyse operational metrics (e.g., CPU, memory, throughput). Use APM tools (e.g., Dynatrace, New Relic) to monitor system performance during tests. Continuous Improvement and Quality Assurance Conduct test reviews and retrospectives to identify areas for improvement. Implement lessons learned and best practices to enhance test quality and efficiency. Framework and Process Optimization Develop performance testing processes that emphasize maintainability, scalability, and ease of use. Promote automation and shift-left testing practices. Resource Planning and Estimation Assist in estimating testing effort, resource allocation, and procurement of necessary tools and environments. Support budget planning for performance testing activities. Team Leadership and Mentorship Lead and mentor performance testers, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence. Provide training and development opportunities to upskill team members. Stakeholder Reporting and Communication Develop and deliver clear, actionable performance test reports tailored to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Communicate risks, issues, and recommendations effectively. Compliance and Safety Adhere to all workplace health and safety policies and procedures. Promote a safe and inclusive working environment.
