About the role The Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing our team of drivers and fleet of hook and skip bin trucks that service the metropolitan Melbourne area, as well as being a key point of contact for our large customer base. The role is on a full-time basis, working Monday to Friday primarily at our Hawthorn office. Your required hours are rotating daily between either 6:00am - 3:00pm or 8:00am - 5:00pm, working alongside the other fleet allocators to cover the required hours of operation. We are looking for someone with experience in the transport industry who brings a high energy and enthusiasm to the role and is willing to work hard to achieve results and help grow the business and their career. Experience within the waste and recycling industry would be highly regarded. This is an all-rounder role in a very fast faced environment, where you will be required to work across all aspects of the operations area including work scheduling and driver management, OHS and fatigue management, payroll, organising truck maintenance, repairs & servicing, conducting driver toolbox meetings and providing feedback to drivers on compliance & safety, and other administrative tasks as required. You will work closely with the operations manager & allocations team and be responsible for: Efficiently and safely allocating drivers and fleet movements to deliver and collect commercial waste bins. Deal with all aspects of the safe placement and collection of commercial waste bins to ensure customer satisfaction. Receiving a very high volume of inbound phone calls from customers and drivers for bookings, ETAs and job allocation. Create daily runs for drivers to maximise fleet efficiency. Report on safety, compliance and daily driver management. Follow up on any operational issues to ensure a high standard of customer service. Liaise with the drivers and workshop regarding breakdowns, repairs and servicing of trucks. Conduct group toolbox meetings and provide individual feedback to drivers on compliance and safety. Administrative tasks including lodging council permits, monitoring fatigue management, reviewing payroll, customer charging and other ad hoc tasks as required. About you Fleet allocations / logistics experience in a waste transport environment is essential to this role. Sound understanding of NHVR fatigue management and chain of responsibility (CoR) principles and laws. Willingness to be a key part of a growing company and eager to work hard to achieve team results. Exceptional communication skills, including verbal and written. Strong computer skills including ability to coordinate work activities using electronic platforms. A solid understanding of the transport industry and understanding of vehicle maintenance. Geographical knowledge of Melbourne metro and surrounding areas. Benefits Great team environment.
