Transgender Victoria (TGV) has been operating for over 20 years and is Victoria’s leading body for transgender, gender diverse, and non-binary (TGD) advocacy. We work to achieve justice, equity, and inclusive service provision for trans and gender diverse people, their partners, families, and friends. Position Overview The Operations Coordinator supports the day-to-day running of TGV’s physical spaces, administrative functions, and community services. Working under close supervision from the Operations and Relationships Lead, this role ensures TGV’s spaces remain safe, organised, and welcoming for staff, volunteers, and community members. The Operations Coordinator undertakes a variety of practical tasks, record-keeping, volunteer coordination, and routine maintenance support which contributes to improving the lives of our wonderful TGD communities! Key Responsibilities Volunteer Coordination and Community SupportAssist in organising volunteer recruitment and induction days.Support volunteers with basic tasks and maintain positive communication. Facilities and Space ManagementAssist with cleaning and maintenance of TGV’s physical spaces.Install and maintain Affirmation Station signage.Organise basic building services such as skips, cleaning, and minor repairs.Assist with the coordination and purchasing of office essentials and supplies.Provide access to individuals or groups hiring the venue and conduct venue tours as needed. Community and Program SupportSupport community members with Change of ID administrative processes, including providing information, helping complete forms, and assisting with document preparation.Provide practical support to artists participating in TGV’s Trans Makers Program, including assisting with stock management, helping set up displays, and coordinating logistics for markets and events.Coordinate and operate TGV’s pop-up stalls at community events, including packing, transporting materials, setting up stalls, engaging with community members, and packing down after events.Assist with other TGV community events and activities as required.Occasional customer support within the Affirmation Station Op Shop. Administrative SupportAssist with administrative tasks including:Answering general enquiriesUploading invoices and receipts.Maintaining simple spreadsheets and records of vendors and suppliers.Providing basic support for community events.Helping coordinate post-operative kit hire.Supplier and Vendor CoordinationSupport communications with external suppliers, tradespeople, and contractors under the direction of the Operations and Relationships Lead. Please Note: The above list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and serves as a guide only. Day-to-day duties may vary depending on the evolving needs of TGV. Key Selection Criteria EssentialLived experience as a trans, gender diverse, or non-binary person.At least 1 year of experience in an organisational role, whether in a paid or volunteer capacity.Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.Demonstrated initiative with the ability to proactively identify issues and develop effective solutions.Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.Practical, hands-on problem-solving skills with a positive, can do attitude.Good communication skills and the ability to work with a range of people, including community members, volunteers, and suppliers.Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and cleaning.Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new systems.Commitment to working in an inclusive, respectful, and culturally safe environment for trans and gender diverse communities.Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends when required for events or Affirmation Station venue support. DesirableExperience working or volunteering within a TGD organisation or community group.Full driver’s licence and regular access to a reliable vehicle.
