Join Our Team as an Operational Risk Specialist! legalsuper is a boutique industry superannuation fund, focused on the legal community. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Operational Risk Specialist to join our Business Enablement (Operations) team. The Operational Risk Specialist will be responsible for assisting Line 1 Business and Operations in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks. Position key accountabilities: Support Line 1 Business and Operations teams in identifying and assessing operational risks across processes, systems, personnel, and third-party service providers. Assist in the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies for identified risks. Conduct control design and operating effectiveness assessments and recommend remediation actions for any control deficiencies. Continuously monitor risk exposures, considering control health, outstanding issues, and incidents. Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date risk, control, incident and issue documentation within the GRC system. Support the investigation and management of operational risk incidents, near misses and issues, ensuring root causes are identified and remediation actions are tracked to completion. Prepare Line 1 Risk Reports that provide insights into the operational risk landscape and control environment across business processes (including critical operations) and material service providers, in alignment with CPS 230 requirements. Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks. Support business continuity management activities, including Business Impact Analysis (BIA), tolerance level setting and review, BCP uplift initiatives, and scenario testing. Assist in managing risks associated with changes to processes, personnel, and third-party arrangements. Stakeholder communication Deliver training sessions and workshops to enhance operational risk awareness and capability across the business. Collaborate closely with Line 2 Risk teams to ensure a consistent and integrated approach to risk management. Assist in internal and external audit reviews in the Operational Risk space. Required qualifications, skills & experience: We'd love to hear from you if you have the following: Proven experience in operational risk management, preferably within financial services or regulated industries. Strong understanding of APRA Prudential Standards, particularly SPS 220, CPS 230. Experience in conducting risk profiling and scenario analysis for operational risks. Experience with GRC systems and risk reporting tools. Experience in business continuity uplift or BCP review. Experience in third-party risk management practice.
