About this Program The Australian NewAccess model is licenced by Beyond Blue and is an adaptation of the United Kingdom’s (UK) Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) available under the National Health Service (NHS). The model offers low-intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (LiCBT) and is effective in treating mild - moderate depression and/or anxiety. In Australia, NewAccess: creates jobs using a new, specifically trained workforce of 'coaches' reduces strain on 'upstream services' integrates into the stepped care service system is technologically friendly - blends face-to-face, telehealth and telephone delivery, providing greater reach for clients from rural and remote communities is a measurable service with clearly visible recovery outcomes. About your new role As a NewAccess Coach, you’ll deliver structured, evidence-based mental health support to individuals using Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (LiCBT). You’ll work under the direction of the New Access Team Leader , with ongoing clinical supervision from qualified LiCBT clinicians to ensure high-quality care. You’ll conduct an initial 60-minute assessment to explore the client’s concerns, define a clear problem statement, and use clinical tools to track progress. Over up to five follow-up sessions (30 minutes each), you'll support clients to build strategies, manage symptoms, and achieve positive mental health outcomes.
