We are now seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mining Engineer with a strong background in Gold mining to join our Leonora operation Open Pit mining team. The primary purpose of this role is to provide short-, medium- and long-term planning for Open Pit mining operations for Genesis Minerals. The opportunity: Lead, develop and roll-out short-term schedules to guide daily and weekly operational execution Coordinate closely with operational teams to monitor progress against daily and weekly plans, identify risks, and adjust plans proactively. Communicate changes to stakeholders accordingly. Collaborate with geology, planning, and operational teams to align mine plans with resource data and production goals. Produce drill and blast plans, with consideration to fragmentation, optimise ore recovery and minimise dilution. Maximise efficiency in drill and blast by conducting reviews and identify improvement opportunities. Work closely with the drill and blast contractor to ensure the contractor resourcing is managed and objectives are delivered in accordance with mid-term and long-term schedules. Assist with the preparation of the 3-month rolling schedules and report on compliance to the plans. Prepare and roll-out Daily, Weekly, Monthly production reporting as per operational requirements. Adjust pit and landform designs and produce reports outlining the changes for sign off by relevant parties. Plan and design mine layouts and infrastructure tailored to gold mining operations in conjunction with company policies and procedures. Initiate ground disturbance approvals based on planning requirements for pits, dumps, roads and rehabilitation. Assist mining team with design of roads, ramps and intersections to ensure compliance with Traffic Management Plan. Utilise the fleet management system to extract key performance data. Upload spatial designs to the system to assist the load and haul team to efficiently achieve designs. Undertake project work such as productivity and equipment utilisation improvement studies, dewatering designs and waste dump development strategies. We would love to hear from you if you have: ​ Operational site-based mining experience (ideally Gold) and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic production environment Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline Experience in an Open Pit Mine Planning role ( desirable ) Technical expertise in relation to open pit mine design, drill and blast, and planning Expert user of Microsoft Office – Excel Knowledge of Power BI desirable Proficient with software such as Deswik and Shotplus Sound knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to mining Unrestricted Quarry Manager’s Ticket ( desirable) Manual Driver’s Licence
