Key role within the Therapeutic Services division About the role Thorne Harbour Health is a leader in delivering inclusive and trauma-informed family violence services for LGBTIQA communities. We provide integrated support, including a specialised Men’s Behaviour Change Program (MBCP) tailored to Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Queer men, along with dedicated anti-violence interventions for LGBTIQA individuals. We’re currently seeking a passionate and experienced Practitioner to join our Therapeutic Services team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting participants to take accountability and change their use of violence in relationships. This key role will: Conduct professional, comprehensive assessments for MBCP participants and LGBTIQA individuals who have used violence. Facilitate evidence-based group interventions focused on behaviour change for LGBTIQA people who use violence in intimate or family relationships. Collaborate with Family Safety Contact Workers to assess risk and develop safety plans for current or former partners, children, and other affected family members. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, case notes, and data reporting to support service delivery and evaluation. Represent Thorne Harbour Health in forums, networks, and interagency meetings as required. Adhere to all organisational policies, procedures, and professional codes of practice, including privacy and confidentiality standards. About you You’re an experienced and compassionate Practitioner with: A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, counselling, or a related discipline. The ability to meet Family Safety Victoria’s Men’s Behaviour Change Minimum Standards , including: A Graduate Certificate in Client Assessment and Case Management (or higher). Completion of required hours in MBCP facilitation (minimum of 100 hours for Principal Facilitators, 40 hours for Facilitators). Completion of MARAM Comprehensive Risk Assessment training. You will also have demonstrated experience in: Conducting family violence risk assessments and safety planning. Providing behaviour change interventions in a family violence or MBCP setting. Facilitating group programs and managing complex case work. Excellent communication, administrative, and reporting skills. A commitment to working respectfully and effectively with LGBTIQA communities and people living with HIV. A collaborative and supportive approach to teamwork.
