About the Role: As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping individuals achieve their personal goals, increase independence, and enhance their quality of life. You’ll provide person-centred support tailored to each individual's unique needs across a range of settings. Your Responsibilities Will Include: Providing one-on-one support to clients in their homes (e.g., domestic assistance, meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, and companionship) Supporting clients in the community (e.g., transport to appointments, shopping, or social outings) Assisting with personal care tasks such as showering, toileting, grooming, and hygiene Offering emotional support and companionship, especially for clients with mental health needs Developing and implementing tailored support plans Collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team (including GPs, OTs, support coordinators, community nurses, social workers, and families) Monitoring and reporting on client wellbeing and behavioural changes by completing progress notes within 24 hours of your shift What We're Looking For A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disability or mental health conditions A compassionate, positive, and people-focused mindset Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity Confidence and enthusiasm – bubbly personalities welcome! Requirements: Qualifications in Disability or Mental Health (highly regarded but not essential) Experience in mental health or disability support (preferred but not mandatory) A current Australian driver's licence and access to a car with comprehensive insurance (essential) Availability for 3–4 days a week (including rotating rosters, weekends, overnights, and sleepovers) Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check or National Police Check, First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (3 doses) A smartphone with internet access Why Join ThisAbility Services Australia?
