7am – 3pm, Monday to Friday (some flexibility requested) Location: Dandenong South APT (Advanced Polymer Technology) is the leading global manufacturer of polyurethane-based materials, acrylic coatings and synthetic turf products for sporting and recreational application s. We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Fitter to join our Engineering team based at our Dandenong South manufacturing facility. In this critical role, you will be a true trouble shooter and able to fix a wide range of mechanical issues in a production setting. About the Role Provide mechanical expertise/support to ensure that the plant is safe & fit for purpose. To maintain the production machinery to the highest level to maximise the output & continuous efficient running of extrusion production lines & machines to manufacture yarn for synesthetic sporting surfaces. To perform preventative maintenance/corrective actions on mechanical equipment and/or plant equipment in the extrusion factory wherever necessary. Responsibilities will include but not limited to: Maintain and improve the capability of the APTA Extrusion lines & associated auxiliary equipment. Ensure all equipment is safe to operate & complies to the relevant Aust Standard. And is maintained to that standard. Fault finding, maintenance, and rebuilding of components. Overhauling machines, where required. Utilising tools of the trade. Preventative and corrective scheduled work General maintenance and production teams are supported, to identify and plan preventative and corrective tasks that improve the safety, reliability, and functionality of the plant. Maintenance and inspection work ensure mechanical safety, asset reliability, materials and spare parts availability, condition, and operating capacity. Extrusion Line & Auxiliary equipment installation & upgrade projects To provide regular maintenance to Extrusion processes and other defined equipment and to document that work as part of APTA’s ISO 9001 quality system. To ensure appropriate inventory of spare parts, tools, and accessories to minimise machine downtime. To prioritise the mechanical workload to minimise machine down time. Who you are: Trade qualification in Cert III Engineering and at least three years trade experience Proven capability to set up and maintain production lines or similar or mechanical expertise. Ability to process documentation in accordance with procedures. Knowledge of continuous improvement processes & Lean Manufacturing Principles desired. Educated to Year 10 level or three (3) years’ experience in production operations or similar. Must be able to problem solve and provide long term maintenance solutions. Welding/Steel Fabrication experience would be advantageous. Previous relevant experience in Manufacturing environment preferred but not essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Motivated, able to multitask and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
