We are seeking a talented and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic Melbourne team at Boronia. About the Role As a Manufacturing Engineer based at our Melbourne factory, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure efficient, on-time production of high-quality machinery, while championing initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and maintain compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, maintenance, and safety departments, to drive continuous improvement across all aspects of our operations. Key Responsibilities Process Design and Implementation: Develop, document, and implement efficient manufacturing processes for new and existing products. Ensure that designs align with product specifications and business objective Improve efficiency and quality: Design tools, jigs, and fixtures to improve assembly efficiency and quality. Optimization and Continuous Improvement: Lead and support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Analyse existing production workflows to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Lead initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce cycle times, and minimize operational costs. Production Support: Provide technical support to production teams, support root cause analysis related to equipment, processes, or materials. Recommend and implement corrective actions as needed for production issues. Collaboration: Collaborate with design and R&D teams to ensure manufacturability of new products Safety and Compliance: Ensure all manufacturing activities adhere to workplace health and safety regulations as well as company policies. Proactively participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and the development of safe work procedures. Troubleshoot and process improvement: Troubleshoot any technical design difficulties, which may arise during the manufacture of product, and take appropriate action to prevent future occurrences of the problems. Training and Mentoring: Support the professional development of operators and junior engineers by providing training on new processes, equipment, or safety procedures. Qualification and experience Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, a related field or demonstrated relevant experience 3 years’ experience in a in a similar role within a low volume production environment involving complex engineering products is advantageous Proven experience designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes. Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret equipment specs Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience in 2D CAD and 3D modelling systems, process simulation tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills. Why work with us?
