Base pay range A$166,650.00/yr - A$166,650.00/yr Position overview Permanent, Full-Time opportunity True hybrid working - work from home and our Mitcham office $166,650 Total Remuneration Package (inclusive of 12% superannuation) The Role As a dynamic and supportive leader in the Asset Delivery & Care team, this role plays a critical part in guiding and inspiring high-performing teams to deliver exceptional operational outcomes. Leading from the front in a fast-paced environment, this role is about more than just managing service delivery - it's about being present, building trust and following through. You lead by example, creating strong connections with your team and stakeholders and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and pride in performance. You will drive the seamless day-to-day delivery of planned and corrective maintenance across civil asset base, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently and with a focus on customer satisfaction. Through close partnerships with delivery teams, you'll unlock continuous improvement opportunities by aligning with strategic KPIs, driving financial performance and adapting swiftly to changing customer needs - all while keeping your team engaged, supported and set up for success. Your key responsibilities To lead a multidisciplinary team and act as a core member of the Asset Delivery & Care Leadership Team Manage an annual budget, overseeing forecasts, expenditure, and strong business case development. Partner with our Safety and Assurance & Resilience teams to uphold compliance and drive continuous improvements in safety, quality, and environmental standards. Develop, implement, and track the team's annual plan focused on enhancing customer service, meeting our water/sanitation service delivery targets, team development and workload balance Drive new business initiatives and innovation across the division. Champion strategic people management - fostering staff development, fairness, inclusion, engagement, and work-life balance. Align roles and build a supportive, collaborative culture focused on team performance and wellbeing. Cultivate strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, delivery partners, councils, and external authorities to streamline service delivery and improve customer outcomes. Lead change initiatives internally and externally, including social procurement aligned with Yarra Valley Waters 2030 strategy, supporting Aboriginal businesses and social enterprises. Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and risk/quality standards. Oversee resource capacity planning, CAPEX/OPEX management, and drive productivity and efficiency improvements. Support key projects like system upgrades and manage regular performance reporting across financial, environmental, customer satisfaction, and delivery metrics. Own contract performance, ensuring timely restoration and reliable water/sewer services. Prepare comprehensive annual business cases detailing budget needs and delivery commitments What we're looking for Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science, or related field Experience in people management, procurement, and contract management. Knowledge of procurement governance and contract management. Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and commercial skills. Supportive and present leadership style - leads by example and builds trust through consistency and visibility. Inspires and motivates teams by fostering connection, clarity and shared accountability. Delivers on commitments - is reliable, action-oriented and outcome-focused Ability to influence senior leaders and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Commitment to OH&S, quality assurance, and environmental standards. Background in asset management and water network operations.
