The role ALS Geochemistry requires a Maintenance Officer to join our facility in Malaga . This full-time role involves performing routine preventative and reactive maintenance duties, including small mechanical tasks, fabrication, and general repairs within a laboratory facility. The successful candidate will receive on-the-job training in all aspects of laboratory equipment maintenance to ensure tasks are completed safely and effectively, in line with ALS HSE policy. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role requires liaising promptly with section supervisors and facility management regarding equipment issues or downtime. This position also offers the opportunity to expand your skillset by maintaining and repairing all on-site equipment. Key responsibilities: Perform routine preventative and reactive maintenance on laboratory equipment. Carry out minor mechanical repairs, fabrication, and general maintenance tasks. Liaise with supervisors and facility management regarding equipment issues. Work independently while contributing to a team-focused environment. The essentials Trade qualifications are not required, but prior experience with power tools and equipment (professional or personal) is essential. Strong mechanical aptitude. Welding and fabrication skills highly regarded. Carpentry skills highly regarded. Excellent work ethic and commitment to safety. Ability to work autonomously while supporting the team. Current C-class driver’s license (manual) and own transport. Proven ability to manage a busy and diverse workload.
