The key duties of the position include The Role Land Systems Division within the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group is seeking experienced and professional Logistics Managers to either support the acquisition and introduction of new capability or manage the ongoing sustainment of in-service equipment. As an executive leader, the EL 1 Logistics Manager is accountable under broad direction for leading a multidisciplinary team to achieve a wide range of very complex Defence logistics outcomes. You will draw on your in-depth knowledge of logistics management and relevant legislative frameworks to provide critical logistics planning, management, governance and assurance, and deliver comprehensive and integrated logistics support to ensure the ADF can reliably operate and maintain their military equipment across the entire capability life cycle. You will provide reliable and trusted strategic logistics advice and actively manage key stakeholder relationships to understand expectations and concerns, address complex issues, anticipate and manage competing priorities, and develop and clearly communicate practices to achieve outcomes. You will also plan, lead and manage your team and financial resources to achieve strategic objectives, focusing on identifying opportunities for building team capability and continuous process improvement. About our Team Land Systems Division's (LSD) mission is to acquire and support capability that enables the ADF to generate and sustain deployable Land power for an integrated force, in peace and war. We aim to be agile, innovative and outcomes-focused as we collaborate closely with the Services and industry to deliver the latest equipment to maximise ADF performance. Our logistics teams work collaboratively with contracting, procurement and technical specialists, as well as other project teams and stakeholders to ensure a compliant and integrated approach to delivering and sustaining equipment, with speed-to-capability and user-safety as a priority. Each program office works closely with end-users to ensure evolving capability requirements are considered and integrated where possible. To excel in this role, you will: Have excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills, including strong emotional intelligence, resilience and adaptability Proactively engage and collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders, including the Services and Defence industry partners, to resolve issues and adjust priorities when required Think strategically and understand options to make evidence-based decisions and recommendations Understand the complexity of logistical elements required to introduce, operate and sustain Defence equipment, and recognise integration and interoperability opportunities Be able to utilise supply chain data and analysis, and exercise astute judgement to deliver effective business outcomes Be able to interpret, apply and advise on relevant legislation, policy and regulatory frameworks Positively motivate and support your team to achieve strategic objectives, and encourage their ongoing professional development while continuing to pursue your own career goals.
