These proteins, such as immunoglobulins, albumin, and clotting factors, are crucial for treating various conditions. Aegros aims to address the global shortage of plasma-derived medicinal products by increasing production efficiency and reducing costs. We require a Life Scientist to join our team in Macquarie Park, NSW. Duties and responsibilities include : Propose and present new experimental ideas on large-scale bioprocessing techniques, biological separations and biological assay development. Plans, designs, and executes scientific experiments to test fractionated plasma products such as Covimmune/Hyperimmune. Conduct method development and validation where required for assays developed and related to the fractionation division. Conduct high level literature search to support new projects and process justification for new and existing manufacturing processes. Develop and validate methods for testing impurities of the drug substance and drug products by using analytical and biochemical testing such as bacterial endotoxin testing, bioburden testing, and identification testing with size exclusion chromatography (SEC HPLC), gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE assay), Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), and so on to ensure the safety and quality of the product. Assist with development and operation of biological separation technology and processes in cGMP environment. Write and edit test methods, work instructions, test records, quality records, and SOPs. Develops, reviews, and approves source documents for regulatory submissions. Perform in-process and final quality check of in-house materials and bulk products. Works cross-functionally with all departments (analytical, microbiological, protein chemistry and membrane division) as well as quality assurance / regulatory affair team. Involved in training other laboratory staff in the proper operation and maintenance of equipment and preparing reagents and material used for research study. To be considered you will need to have a relevant tertiary qualification and at least 1 year of relevant employment experience. Desirables : Experience working in sterile manufacturing/development environment is preferred. Work experience in GMP environment desirable. This is a full time position, an immediate start is available. A remuneration package of $80,000 - $105,000 per annum will be offered to the successful candidate.
