Join a bold, collaborative team that thrives on solving complex problems and driving innovation. Are you a senior technical leader ready to take ownership of a mission-critical SaaS platform? Fusion5 is looking for an experienced Lead Engineer to ensure the performance, availability, and operational resilience of Jemini - our modern cloud-based HR and Payroll solution. This role combines DevOps engineering, SQL database administration, and hands-on technical leadership. You’ll serve as a senior escalation point, drive platform automation, manage critical incidents and releases, and collaborate with a high-performing team across Australia and New Zealand. What You’ll Do Own the Jemini platform’s technical operations across Azure, SQL Server (SQL MI preferred), and supporting infrastructure. Lead uptime management, performance monitoring, and capacity Design and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and containerised deployments (Docker/Kubernetes). Act as the primary escalation point for critical incidents and support after-hours resolution and release activities. Administer SQL databases, manage security, implement encryption and compliance best practices, and support high availability configurations and experience with performance tuning. Mentor technical staff, support DevOps maturity, and ensure operational excellence across the stack. Engage with development teams, vendors, and customers to align technology and business outcomes. What You’ll Bring 10 years in senior IT roles with a focus on operations and platform engineering. Proven expertise across Microsoft Azure, SQL Server, enterprise networking, and cloud security. Proficiency in automation scripting (PowerShell, Bash). Proven success in CI/CD pipeline engineering and infrastructure as code (Terraform or ARM). Experience in 24x7 SaaS support environments and ISO/IEC 27001-compliant operations. Strong communication and incident leadership skills with a customer-centric mindset. Desirable (but not essential) Experience in HR/Payroll SaaS platforms. Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), Prometheus, Grafana, and SQL Profiler. Azure SQL Managed Instance ITIL knowledge and Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator or Database Admin Associate). SSIS/SSRS and data integration experience. Who is Fusion5?
