About the role: The Just Brass Coordinator leads the Just Brass program—an inclusive community music initiative aimed at providing school-aged children with access to quality brass music education. The role supports personal growth, teamwork, and confidence-building through music and involves active participation in Redcliffe Corps ministry activities alongside the Just Brass Band. How You Will Make an Impact: As a vital member of the Corps Leadership Team, your responsibilities will include: Deliver brass instrument tuition to school-aged students, supporting their development through ensemble participation and leadership opportunities within the Just Brass Band. Plan, coordinate, and lead weekly band rehearsals, including programming, administration, student supervision, and musical instruction. Design and implement a well-rounded program that balances enjoyment, engagement, skill development, and challenge. Recruit, train, and oversee volunteer tutors in accordance with The Salvation Army’s Mission Volunteer policies and procedures. Serve as conductor for the advanced ensemble group. Provide instruction and oversight for small group tuition. Lead and manage the program’s funding strategy, actively pursuing community fundraising, grants, sponsorships, and partnerships with local organisations and stakeholders. Support individuals by offering appropriate referrals and assistance when needed. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external community partners such as schools, local councils, police, and other community groups. Note: Availability to work on Sundays is required.
