About Us Aboriginal Community Housing Limited (ACHL) plays a vital role in addressing housing needs within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia. As a national Tier 1 Aboriginal community housing organization, ACHL focuses on providing culturally appropriate property and tenancy management services, which means we are dedicated to creating housing solutions that are not only practical but also respectful of the cultural, social, and historical contexts of the people we support. The Role We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our dedicated housing services team where you will be responsible for delivering high quality tenancy and property management for our ACHL portfolio of properties in the region. Your talent for building relationships and working in partnership with clients, including leveraging your existing networks with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, people, agencies, and partner organisations in New South West Australia will ensure you excel in this role. You will: Undertake tenancy & property management, working alongside tenant’s support providers. Portfolio located across the metro and regional New South West Australia Tenant support coordination, managing rent arrears, conducting inspections, and tenancy exits Allocating properties and assessing applicants against program eligibility Work closely with government departments, clients, support agencies, and relevant CHL departments. About You You will demonstrate relevant experience providing client focused tenancy management services, including the ability to work with a diverse range of clients. In addition, you will have a good working knowledge and understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act and an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural issues in New South Wales Australia, including their social, political, and historical context. Essential Criteria: This is an Identified position. ACHL considers that being an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under s. 65 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (SA). Awareness of and sensitivity to the people who are in housing crisis and thorough understanding of local barriers and difficulties. An understanding of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, cultures, and history in Victoria will be crucial for success. The ability to work independently as part of a wider team. High level time management and organisational skills. Excellent communication skills. The role involves travel, so having a valid driver’s license is essential. Flexibility in your work schedule will also be important. A commitment to the right of all people to affordable and sustainable housing.
