Job description Help shape the foundations of a bold new nonprofit Empower migrant and Southeast Asian women and girls Remote & flexible, 6-10hrs monthly ABOUT US Women’s Lantern is a newly established, survivor-led not-for-profit, dedicated to empowering migrant & Southeast Asian women and girls affected by domestic, family, or sexual violence (DFSV). Through culturally sensitive and trauma-informed programs, we walk alongside survivors to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. Our programs include digital empowerment hubs, storytelling circles, culturally grounded prevention and social enterprise, we’re building pathways to safety, belonging, and long-lasting independence. ABOUT THE ROLE We're seeking a strategic and values-driven Head of Finance to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced finance professional who wants to use their skills to create real social impact and build strong organisational foundations. As Head of Finance, you will oversee our financial strategy, compliance, and reporting as we expand our programs. You’ll work closely with the CEO and COO to lead budgeting, reporting, audit processes, and long-term financial planning. Your insights and expert advice will ensure we remain financially sustainable, transparent, and mission-aligned. This is a remote/hybrid role with an estimated time commitment of 6–10 hours per month, including monthly board meetings and support during key financial periods. We are a small, dedicated team creating something new and impactful - a willingness and ability to provide hands on financial support to meet our financial objectives is essential. SELECTIOn CRITERIA Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field Proven experience (5 years) in a financial management role Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in financial software High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail Strong understanding of nonprofit financial compliance and funding models. Knowledge of ACNC reporting, Australian accounting standards, and risk frameworks Strategic thinker with a collaborative spirit, committed to equity, inclusion, and cultural sensitivity POSITION description & QUESTIONS Attached is a position description for more information.
