Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role based in Gold Coast, QLD, for a General Metal Fabricator / Welder. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal structures and components to support residential and commercial development projects. Daily tasks include interpreting technical drawings, cutting and shaping metal, performing MIG/TIG welding, conducting quality checks, and collaborating with other trades and project teams to ensure high-quality, safe, and timely delivery of work.

Role Responsibilities:

• Fabricate, assemble, and weld structural and non-structural metal components

• Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications

• Operate welding and fabrication machinery safely and effectively

• Conduct inspections and quality control checks to ensure compliance with standards

• Collaborate with construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers

• Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment

• Represent the business with professionalism, integrity, and commitment to excellence

Role Requirements:

• 3–5+ years’ experience in metal fabrication and welding (structural steel preferred)

• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and arc welding techniques

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specifications

• Knowledge of Australian Standards for welding and fabrication

• Relevant trade qualification or certification in welding/fabrication

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Physically fit and able to work safely in a construction environment

• Organised, motivated, and able to deliver under tight deadlines
