Registered Nurse (Level 5) – Nurse Bank Mackay Base Hospital | Mackay Hospital and Health Service 28 July – 31 August 2025 Join a dynamic and flexible nursing workforce in sunny North Queensland. Mackay Base Hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join the Nurse Bank team on a temporary placement. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain diverse clinical experience while supporting key hospital departments across the Mackay Hospital and Health Service (MHHS). About the Role As a Nurse Bank RN, you’ll provide high-quality, person-centred care across a range of inpatient units, covering planned and unplanned leave and periods of increased demand. You may be deployed to any of the following wards during your contract: G2 and F2 Medical Wards F0 Orthopaedic Ward G0 Ward (Acute Assessment, Stroke, Medical) General Surgical Unit (GSU) Mandatory Requirements Minimum 2 years’ clinical experience in a medical or surgical setting Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse Evidence of recent clinical currency Completion of the following competencies: Basic Life Support (BLS) Manual and patient handling Infection control Aggressive behaviour management Mandatory reporting of child abuse and neglect Medication management including QPHS Regulations (Nov 2012) Desirable Skills Proficiency with ieMR and other QLD Health systems Previous experience working in Queensland Health, Mackay HHS, or within the Australian healthcare system Training and Onboarding Successful candidates must agree to undertake: Integrated electronic medical record (ieMR) training Online induction modules Any additional training as required by MHHS To apply, please click 'Apply Now' on this page to complete the enquiry form on the Nursing Jobs Australia website and upload your CV.
