Description We currently have a 6 month fixed-term contract opportunity for an External Sales Officer to join our team. This role reports to the Inventory Manager and plays a key role in managing external customer accounts, driving profitable sales growth, and contributing to the success of our Logistics business unit. The External Sales Officer is responsible for developing a sustainable external supply business, building strong customer relationships, and identifying new market opportunities. This role can be based anywhere within Essential Energy’s operational footprint . Key Responsibilities Maintain and grow the external customer base through excellent service and account management Provide accurate material quotes and project quotation packages Process external sales orders, returns, discounts, and related activities Administer credit control and monitor customer trading terms Review pricing and customer margins to ensure profitability Generate financial sales reports and identify commercial opportunities Reinforce trading terms and ensure compliance with policies and procedures Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in alignment with Essential Energy’s Code of Conduct About You As an External Sales Officer, you will bring strong account management experience, a customer-first mindset, and a commercial approach to sales. You will be confident working independently and collaboratively, with a focus on delivering business growth and operational excellence. Required Qualifications/Skills Mandatory: Certificate IV in Government (Procurement and Contracting) or equivalent experience Desirable: Driver’s Licence Experience: Proven experience in a sales/account management role Knowledge of purchasing and inventory management practices Experience with quoting, account setup, and maintaining sales systems Understanding of contract management and customer engagement Skills: Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities Ability to manage complex issues and drive continuous improvement Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant business systems Why Essential Energy We offer competitive remuneration commensurate with skills and experience and 16.5% superannuation.
