The Opportunity UGL Utilities is seeking expressions of interest from an experienced Sustainability Manager to join our team in Melbourne. This role will be office based but require frequent site visits. In this key role, you are responsible for managing the development of project sustainability plans, systems and delivery of best practice and innovative outcomes. You will provide strategic project direction, technical advice, leadership, mentoring and training to increase sustainability capability and delivery of the UGL project scope. What will a day in this role look like: · Hold management team to account for project sustainability performance standards. · Provide leadership consistent with UGL sustainability management compliance obligations and strategies · Create a culture that encourages innovation and adoption of best practice sustainability initiatives · Provide technical advice, coaching and mentoring to the senior management personnel. · Contribute to the achievement of UGL & Project strategic objectives, targets, and reporting The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. What are we looking for you to bring to the team: · Tertiary qualification/Relevant degree in Sustainability, Architecture, Engineering or Science or post graduate qualification in Sustainability · Understanding of relevant sustainability legislation and guidelines · Proven experience (5 years) managing sustainability within the infrastructure industry · Strong communication skills (oral and written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
