The Executive Assistant Temporary Employment Register is open for candidates to submit an expression of interest for non-ongoing employment as an Executive Assistant within the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). The ATO will review applications and if a vacancy is identified that matches your skills and experience, we will contact you. Your application will remain active for six months; after which we will email you to review and resubmit your application. The key duties of the position include We're looking for experienced, enthusiastic and highly organised Executive Assistants. To succeed in this role you will have great people skills, the ability to anticipate the needs of senior executives and demonstrate flexibility and resilience. As an Executive Assistant, you will: Proactively support senior executives by undertaking 'front of office' functions, including greeting visitors, receiving and responding to phone calls, emails and correspondence, directing enquiries to the most appropriate service channel and assisting in resolving client issues. Apply sound judgment in providing executive and administrative assistance to senior executives including managing diaries, organising conferences and meetings and collating required documentation. Advise, organise, schedule and coordinate all travel arrangements and supporting documentation for the senior executive and/or staff in a branch or work area. Build and sustain relationships and obtain cooperation and assistance within the work area and other areas of the ATO. Communicate with employees at all levels of the ATO, ministerial offices, external government departments and members of the public on behalf of the senior executive. Take personal responsibility for own development and training and assist with training less experienced employees within the work area. Understand and support the principles of the legislative, regulatory, and corporate policy and procedures as they apply in the ATO. Be responsive to changes and use common sense to solve problems that may be complex yet broadly similar to previous situations, and research solutions which generally can be found in documented precedents or procedures.
