About the role The City is seeking a Road Inspector to help ensure roads are safe and well-maintained. This role involves inspecting third-party roadworks and utility projects to confirm works meet required standards, and you will respond to public enquiries and complaints about road assets. The Road Inspector works closely with residents, contractors, and internal teams to provide updates and resolve issues. Ideal candidates will be organised, have civil construction experience, and demonstrate strong communication skills and a commitment to community service. Role accountabilities include: Administering permits and inspecting works on road reservations. Managing utility access notices and ensuring compliance with standards. Investigating and responding to road infrastructure enquiries and complaints. Communicating with residents, contractors, and stakeholders. Maintaining accurate records and reporting unauthorised works. Providing advice on City procedures and covering for the City Infrastructure Inspector as required. Learn more about the role in the position description: Roads Inspector Position Description About you You’ll have civil engineering qualifications (TAFE Advanced Diploma or equivalent), a current driver licence, and experience in road infrastructure, construction, and compliance. Strong communication, conflict resolution, and WHS awareness are essential.
